We had a steady days trading at the Premier sale in Roscommon with a complete clearance of all stock brought forward for sale.
The show highlight was Lyndsey’s bull Jennalyn Charlie Rose giving her her first ever Roscommon championship with the Senior male title. This September 2011 born bull was sired by Banwy T-Rex and out of a Marblehill Liam homebred dam Jennalyn Tara Rose. Charlie was unbeaten during the summer show season culminating in him taking the National Yearling Bull title at the National Livestock Show in Tullmore. He was purchased by David Thompson, Ballymena, Co. Antrim for his pedigree herd.
Our other bull Clonagh Charton by Banwy T-Rex out of Clonagh Temptation sold for €3,000.
In the heifers our top call was for the reserve female champion, Clonagh Diamond Eyes selling for €4,500 to new breeders Noel Farrell and family, Cashel, Co. Tipperary. She is by Banwy T-Rex out of Milton Senhorita ET making her a full sister to Darling Eyes (National Yearling Heifer Champion 2012) and Dainty Eyes (Weanling Heifer Champion Roscommon November 2012 sold for €5,000)
Our second highest priced heifer was Jennalyn Cee Cee Duffy a second prizewinner to the champion by Banwy T-Rex out of Jennalyn Wee Duffy. She sold for €4,100. Her full sister Jennalyn Betty Boo was reserve yearling champion Roscommon November 2011 selling for €4,250 t0 the Padaro herd as one of their foundation females.
Clonagh Cam Cam Baby heads to the Tipperary herd of Cian Martin for €3,000. She is by Bawny T-Rex out of a Starline Klassik daughter Clonagh Wanda Star. We look forward to meeting her again at the summer shows.
