Born May 2012, Dragoon is by Crugmelyn Brenin and is out of the Cairnview Snazzy daughter Kilbride Farm Dora 41B, a pedigree packed full of performance from start to finish.

Dora 41B is full sister to Dora 34A, reserve champion Northern Ireland Elite female sale and sold for 6000gns to the Atlow herd in England where she has been shown very successfully

Dora’s sire Cairnview Snazzy, is probably the most successful bull at Kilbride, siring the last two October supreme champions in Stirling, as well as numerous other champions and high priced animals. Six sons from five different breeders sold in Stirling October 2012 to average a little more than 11,000gns.

Along with Snazzy in her pedigree, she carries the noted Seaview Prince Charming, who is the sire of one Perth champion and grandsire of two Stirling champions with seven sons at one Stirling sale averaging 7000gns.

The Dora family is one of the main cow families at Kilbride with three of the five sale bulls at Stirling this month from the herd, including the Supreme Champion, coming from that family.

Dragoon’s sire Crugmelyn Brenin was purchased privately after winning his class at the English National Show in 2011. He is producing fast growing, long, correct, well muscled cattle with excellent feet and legs and looks like becoming another great stock bull. Since our purchase, three more sons, all out of heifers have been sold privately off the farm.

Having been impressed with the bulls on offer from Kilbride at a herd visit in August, I set eyes on Dragoon for his length, clean lines, and strength of second thigh and plates. Added to that, he is incredibly docile with a super head, bone and is correct throughout.

His pedigree is an ideal cross for our herd and he also comes with an impressive set of performance figures behind him having scanned at 142, the highest scan ever at Kilbride giving him an eye muscle of +5.7, which ranks him in the top 0.01% for the breed.
