We were delighted to once again be working with the team at Mart Eye in hosting our latest online sale – The Valentine’s Vixens which took place from Friday 10th to Monday 13th February.
The sale comprised of 50 lots – 36 females, 12 bulls and 2 frozen embryos. Of the 36 females presented there were 23 Simmental – the entire autumn crop of heifers and the majority of winter/spring born natural and embryo calves. The entire crops of both Limousin (10) and Charolais (3) heifers were also offered for sale.
Topping the Simmental, and female following on from her full sister last was “Clonagh Nightlight Dora ET” selling for €6,400. She is daughter of the former twice overall Simmental of the Year, Clonagh Dora the Explorer. She is by the herds senior herd sire, Manor Park Hansome making her a full sister to the record priced €52,000 Clonagh Lucky Explorer.

Topping the Limousin heifer trade selling for €3,700 was a Goldies Jackpot daughter, “Clonagh Sindy Babe”. She is out of a super Dinmore Goldcrest daughter, Clonagh Klaudia going back to one of our original French imports, Nounou.

The first female to be offered for sale from Jason’s Charolais herd was “Clonagh Sinda Babe” selling for €3,800. Sired by Goldcstar Ludwig, she goes back to our foundation female Goldstar Beatrix whose female line goes back to the famous Ballybrown Marlene. In fact Jason had a terrific sale with his Charolais heifers and his only Charolais bull having a 100% clearance!

There were 12 bulls offered for sale, 7 Simmentals, 3 Limousin, 1 Charolais and 1 Hybrid bull.
Topping the Simmental and the bull section itself was “Clonagh Noddy” – described by ourselves as a very special bull with power, shape, width and correctness in abundance. He is by Manor Park Hansome out of a Banwy T-Rex dam going back to Corlesmore Willow.

Topping the Charolais bull section was “Clonagh Sultan” selling for €5,400. A powerful Fiston son who is 5 star for both maternal and terminal with only 5.7% calving difficulty. He comes from the same family line as the top priced heifer.

Leading the way in the Limousin bull section was “Clonagh Sherwood” selling for €4,000. By the easy calving Tomschoice Lexicon and out of a Plumtree Fantastic dam with bloodlines going back to Ideal 23 and Nenuphar.

A frozen embryo from Cloneygowan Temptress Posh by Curaheen Tyson sold for €750.

We want to thank the team at Mart Eye, Mid Tipp Mart, H&H and the societies and media outlets who helped to promote the sale.
Most importantly thank you to the buyers and the under bidders. It was very encouraging to see repeat customers from last previous online sales confident in the system and purchasing again.
