The August Bank holiday is always one we never mind getting up at 5am for, as it’s Tinahely Show. The second largest show of the year always turns out a great display of cattle throughout and we look forward to catching up with friends and customers at it.
We had a fantastic days showing with our team of 10 cattle winning 11 red rosettes, as well as collecting a number of other awards.
With the South Eastern Club autumn calf finals moving to Tinahely for the first time we brought forward a strong team of calves culminating in Clonagh cattle winning all four calf finals.
In the yearling bull class our champion was Clonagh Diamond Rock, a Banwy T-Rex son out of a Dovefields Gallant daughter Clonagh Temptation ET. He was later tapped forward as reserve breed champion. Reserve to him was Clonagh Dizzy Rascal again by T-Rex out of a Raceview King daughter, Clonagh Tizzy Edel ET.

In the yearling heifer class, champion was Clonagh Dainty Kay. By our former herd sire Clonagh Wonderboy she is out of a Brinkton Brilliant daughter, Clonagh Kay. Reserve to her was Jennalyn Dee Duffy, by Banwy T-Rex out of a Raceview King daughter Jennalyn Vee Duffy.

In the weanling bull class we stood top of the line with Clonagh Dancing T by Banwy T-Rex out of Dovefields Gallant daughter, Clonagh Tilly Fiona ET. Reserve to him was Clonagh Devine Venus by Banwy T-Rex out of a Raceview King daughter, Clonagh Venus Grace.

The weanling heifer class was won by Clonagh Dixie Princess Joan by Banwy T-Rex out of a Freighduff Brendan daughter Clonagh Princess Joan.

Our junior heifer, Clonagh Darling Eyes was reserve in the Super Simmental Championship.
In the open calf classes our February born heifer Clonagh Extra Fabulous also won her class. She is a full sister to our show cow Clonagh Absolutely Fabulous by Banwy T-Rex out of Clonagh Shania Babe.

Our senior heifer, Jennalyn Crimson Lady had a fantastic day winning three first prizes, the Super Simmental championship, the overall Simmental and then later topping off our fantastic day by securing the Interbreed championship award. Crimson is by T-Rex out of a Raceview King daughter, Jennalyn Scarlet ET and is in calf to Clonagh Wonderboy.

Next stop for team Clonagh will be the National Livestock Show in Tullamore, we look forward to catching up with everyone there.
